The Complete Ramayana #3 : Rama Goes into Exile - Paperback

Paro Anand’s authoritative retelling of the complete Ramayana continues. This is volume III of VII.

Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana are living in the Dandaka forest when a shimmering golden deer appears at the edge of their hut. Sita is enchanted; Lakshmana smells a trap; and Rama walks straight into one. In the time it takes to chase one golden deer, Sita is taken by the demon king Ravana, and an old eagle named Jatayu fights his last breath to stop them. Now Rama and Lakshmana follow a trail of scattered flowers and jewels, with no army, no allies and an ocean between them and Sita.
